18 Notable Canadian Jewish Performers
UTRTHE FOUR BOOK JAZZ MUSICIANS UNDER THE RADAR
Jazz Musicians Under The Radar - 18 Notable Canadian Jewish Performers is the 4th volume in a series of music history books by David Eisenstadt.
Written from “an historic not music critique perspective,” he said, “I have documented their career lives that evokes ‘I didn’t know that’ reactions to myriad interesting facts. The fuel that keeps me researching, interviewing, and writing is the frequent and encouraging responses from readers and many musicians too. Most gratifying are the positive vibes from family members of musicians chaptered who have died," Eisenstadt said.
“There’s a never-ending list of talented performers who have and have had successful careers. But for various reasons many have been forgotten, or their lives and achievements have been buried in short encyclopedic paragraphs. Not a week goes by that I don’t receive musician nominations. That feedback is of great help - and often a starting point to begin my research and confirm who in my mind’s eye should be remembered. The most frequent reader reactions - ’I didn’t know that’ or ‘You mean that musician is Canadian and Jewish?’”
